Frequently asked questions
What is OCR?
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) reads text from images and converts it to machine-readable text. Scanned PDFs are just images — OCR makes them searchable.
Does the output look different?
No. The original page image is preserved. OCR adds an invisible text layer on top, so the PDF looks identical but text is now searchable.
Is Hindi OCR accurate?
Hindi OCR accuracy depends on scan quality, font, and print clarity. Clear, high-resolution scans of printed (not handwritten) text work best.
Is my file safe?
Files are uploaded over HTTPS and deleted from the server immediately after your download.
What if OCR misreads some text?
OCR is imperfect, especially for low-quality scans, unusual fonts, or handwriting. Use the PDF Editor to manually correct any mistakes.
